Teachers are standing up to the intimidation, abuse really, heaped on them by politicians of both parties and the billionaires who have bought them. To understand where the passion of resistance comes from and is sustained, especially in city schools, and especially in schools educating poor kids of color, listen to this podcast of African-American male educators in Philadelphia, including two members of the Caucus of Working Educators, who explain their passion and resistance, their "love supreme." There is a great deal of resistance one does not learn about in corporate or even liberal media. But it's there and we need to support it.
